Berkeley County is proud to announce a new partnership with Veteran Recovery Coalition, which will serve as an official veteran assistance partner for Berkeley County veterans and their families.
As part of this partnership, a new Veteran Rapid Response kiosk will be installed inside the Berkeley County Veterans Affairs Department. The kiosk will give local veterans direct access to the Veteran Rapid Response Program through the Veteran Rapid Response Platform.
Veterans will be able to use the kiosk to request assistance, identify their immediate needs, and begin developing a personalized recovery plan. The program will help coordinate appropriate services and resources while providing continued follow-up and long-term accountability.
Assistance may include:
- Housing and homelessness prevention
- Mental health and substance-use recovery support
- Healthcare and wellness resources
- Employment, education, and vocational assistance
- Veterans benefits navigation
- Transportation and essential-needs support
- Family stabilization and community reintegration
- Crisis intervention and emergency resource coordination
This partnership is designed to simplify the process of seeking help. Instead of requiring veterans to navigate multiple organizations on their own, the Veteran Rapid Response Program will help connect each veteran with the services that best address their individual circumstances.
Most importantly, the program goes beyond providing a referral or a list of resources. Participating veterans can receive a structured recovery plan, coordinated service connections, progress monitoring, and continued support intended to help them achieve lasting stability.
The partnership between Berkeley County and Veteran Recovery Coalition represents a shared commitment to ensuring that every veteran is heard, supported, and connected to a clear path forward.
