Veteran Housing Stabilization Assistance

Housing instability is rarely just a housing problem. VRC looks at the full situation affecting the veteran or military family, including rent or utility arrears, unsafe living conditions, risk of homelessness, temporary lodging needs, security deposits, transportation, employment, benefits, and other barriers that may threaten stability.

After the initial assessment, a live VRC case manager works directly with the veteran throughout the case to identify priorities, coordinate available resources, navigate required documentation, and pursue appropriate assistance. Donor-supported financial assistance may also be provided when appropriate and available.

Our work does not end once the immediate housing issue is addressed. VRC continues working with the veteran to strengthen the areas that support long-term stability, including employment, benefits, transportation, family support, and opportunities for upskilling and reintegration into their family, community, and workforce.

Does VRC provide housing?

VRC helps veterans assess housing needs, navigate available options, and coordinate appropriate support. Availability of direct assistance depends on individual circumstances and resources.

Can VRC help prevent homelessness?

Contact VRC as early as possible when housing is at risk so options can be reviewed before the situation becomes more urgent.

What information should I have ready?

Bring any notices, lease information, proof of income, benefit information, and a short description of the current situation if available.
